Shall We Dance? American Swing Dancing class.

Shall We Dance? American Swing Dancing class.

Please come on Sunday, January 31 at 2 p.m. to the dancing event where you will be able to learn Swing-dancing skills with our American instructor. East Coast Swing aka “Jitterbug” is a form of social partner dance. East Coast Swing is a simpler 6-count variation that spawned from the six-count variations of the Lindy Hop. It evolved with swing-band music of the 1940s and the work of the Arthur Murray dance studios in the 1940s. Swing has very simple structure and footwork along with basic moves and styling. It is popular for its simple nature and is often danced to slow, medium, or fast tempo jazz, blues, or rock and roll. This is an easy dance to learn and it is a lot of fun, so don’t miss it.  You do not necessarily need to bring a partner, as we will rotate partners throughout the class.
