Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at the American Cultural Center is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community, meet new people and learn new skills.

Your English is really good? Great! You are passionate about teaching others? Perfect! We have a number of options for you:

One-on-One English Conversation Sessions

One-on-One is a cultural program for people who are studying English and want to talk tête-à-tête with a proficient English speaker. If you are a native speaker or a non-native speaker with an advanced level of English you can help our patrons with their English learning process. You can choose any topic for your conversation as long as you are both comfortable with it.

Reading for Children

We care a lot about our little patrons, and are happy that they love to read. If you have a favorite children’s book, and know how to make young listeners interested, you are welcome to take part in organizing story time for them. You can choose any book from our Children’s section, and give a theatrical reading of it. The more creative you are, the better!

Thematic Clubs

Every month, we provide our patrons with a large number of thematic clubs dedicated to language, literature, business, art, media, technology, sports, etc. These clubs’ meetings are organized regularly: monthly, biweekly, or weekly. Some of them have been existing for years, and some are very young. You can suggest your own thematic club! The theme does not matter as long as you are enthusiastic about the topic, and have enough material for discussion during a series of meetings.

American Cultural Centers welcomes lecturers who want to give a presentation about their area of interest. We especially appreciate lectures on subjects related to USA and American culture/lifestyle/people but general topics are also welcome.
