“Frankenstein: the greatest horror story” — Lecture & Duscussion

Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein is much more than just the first and perhaps greatest horror story ever written; it is as well an expression of Romanticism and the values it embodied. However, what many people do not realize about her book is that it is a deeply philosophical piece with a clear and well defined philosophical outlook. In it she asks and answers the question “Who and what is monsterous in the world?” In this lecture we will look through Mary Shelly’s eyes and search for her answer. However, because the question is relevant even to us today, each of us must examine and answer this question for ourselves.
