That these fields are “the future” goes without saying.  The only question that needs to be answered is what is the nature of that future will be.  The possibilities will be the topic of our discussion as we focus on critical questions such as whether because of these new technologies machines will replace humans, whether humans will be made immortal or whether these machines will themselves become “immortals.”  As humanity seems to be destroying itself by destroying its environment, will technology come to replace it as the new forms of “life” and Mind in the world?  What exactly will be the relationship between man and the machines he is creating?
