Film Club: Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia”

Film Club: Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia”

This feature won the Best Film award at the European Film Awards. The US National Society of Film Critics selected it as the best picture of 2011. Many film scholars called this work a masterpiece. But what is this movie? A sci-fi piece? A psychological drama? Or a terrifying socio-philosophical parable about the end of Man? At our next session on Monday, September 18 at 7 p.m., we’re going to talk about Lars von Trier’s “Melancholia”. Film Club is hosted by Dmitry Leonov. Meetings are held in English.
